The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra’s best brass musicians will be featured in the next performance of “inSPIREd: JSO at the Grand Halle” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 17.
Performing a program titled “Brass Through the Ages,” the JSO Brass Quartet is comprised of Matthew Barabas, JSO Principal Trumpet; Kevin Eisensmith, JSO Trumpet 2; Bruce Tychinski, JSO Principal Trombone; and Dana Menser, JSO Trombone 2.
This will be the second performance in an exciting new chamber music collaboration between the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Halle on Broad Street called “inSPIREd.” The debut program was performed on March 20 by the Principal String Quartet of the JSO. Called “A Grand Premiere,” the program not only debuted the chamber music series but represented the first live-music performance by members of the JSO in more than a year, and the first public event in the beautifully renewed Grand Halle on Broad Street, which received a $500,000 facelift in early 2020. It also was the first public event permitted in the Grand Halle by the easing of pandemic restrictions by the PA Department of Health.
Due to current state restrictions, limiting the Grand Halle to 25 percent of occupancy, only 65 tickets will be sold to this performance. Masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced. Tickets are available at GrandHalle.com or by calling 814-536-7986.
